Eight die of estrogen vaccine in Britain

Seven people have died in Britain after a blood clot caused by the estrogen vaccine. The country's drug and health care products regulator said yesterday. The agency said in a statement that seven of the 30 people reported to have blood clots as of March 24 had died.

The European Pharmaceutical Agency (EMA), like the World Health Organization, declared the AstraZeneca vaccine safe. New suggestions in this regard may come from EMA on April 6. According to the regulatory body, 30 blood clots have been reported after 16 million people in the UK were vaccinated with the estrogen vaccine. Health officials or ordinary citizens have submitted information in this regard on the government website.

Most of the 30 have had cerebral venous sinus thrombosis, a rare form of blood clotting in the brain. In addition, others have suffered from blood clots and low platelets.

Noting that no blood clots were found in the Pfizer vaccine, the agency said: "We are still reviewing these reports." Last March, AstraZeneca reported that the vaccine trial in the United States had a 69 percent efficacy and no risk of blood clots.
