Iftar and Sehri are forbidden in the mosque during Ramadan

In the coming holy month of Ramadan, like last year, the worshipers have to worship in the midst of the epidemic coronavirus infection. This time the government has issued some restrictions including banning iftar and sehri in the mosque.

In the current context of the country, the Ministry of Religious Affairs has been requested to comply with certain conditions. These are:

1. Soap-water with hand sanitizer / hand washing system should be kept at the entrance of the mosque and the incoming worshiper must come to the mosque after wearing a mask;

2. Everyone should perform ablution from their home, perform sunnat prayers at home and come to the mosque and wash their hands with soap for at least 20 seconds while performing ablution;

3. Carpets cannot be laid in the mosque. Before the five daily prayers, the entire mosque must be cleaned with disinfectant, the worshipers must each bring the Jainamaz in their respective responsibilities;

4. Social distance must be ensured when standing for prayers in Qatar;

5. Children, the elderly, any sick person and those engaged in the service of the sick shall refrain from participating in Jamaat;

6. Soap / hand sanitizer should be kept in the toilet of the mosque to prevent infection. Jainamaz and hats preserved in the mosque cannot be used;

7. The guidelines of the health care department, local administration and law enforcement agencies must be followed to ensure public safety;

8. Iftar and Sehri cannot be organized in the mosque;

9. Khatibs and Imams will offer prayers at the court of the great Rabbul Alamin after the prayers to be saved from the coronavirus epidemic;

10. Honorable Khatib, Imam and Mosque Management Committee will ensure implementation of the issues.

In case of violation of the said instructions, the local administration and law enforcement agencies will take legal action against the responsible persons. The notification also requested the local administration, law enforcement agencies, officials and employees of the Islamic Foundation and the management committee of the respective mosques to implement the guidelines to prevent coronavirus infection.
