BNP rally to begin at 11 am: Khandaker Musharraf, Mirza Fakhrul and Mirza Abbas in jail

BNP's Dhaka divisional mass meeting will start from 11 am tomorrow Saturday at Golapbag ground in the capital, said the member of the party's standing committee. Khandkar Mosharraf Hossain.

He said this at an emergency press conference at the BNP Chairperson's office in Gulshan on Friday afternoon.

Khandaker Musharraf said that all dictatorships had to surrender before the people's movement. History says so. InshaAllah, the current government will also have to submit to the demands of the people. This is our expectation.

"Earlier 9 public meetings have been successfully completed by the people peacefully. The government was afraid of this and they hatched a nefarious conspiracy to stop the Dhaka Divisional Assembly. We condemn such conspiracies," he said.

Dr. Golapbag field rally will start from 11 am. Mosharraf Hossain said, those who will be in the movement together with us in the future. They will be present in tomorrow's rally peacefully and I call upon the people of Dhaka from all walks of life to come to the rally.

He also said, "I will announce a clause for the government's departure from the Dhaka rally in the coming days."

At that time, he demanded the unconditional release of all arrested leaders including BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and Standing Committee member Mirza Abbas.

The court ordered BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and the party's Standing Committee member Mirza Abbas to be sent to jail in the capital's Paltan police case.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mohammad Jasim gave this order on Friday (December 9).

Earlier in the afternoon, lawyer Zainal Abedin Mejbah applied for their bail. After the hearing on the bail application, the judge ordered to send him to prison.

They were brought to the CMM court in Dhaka from the DB office around 4:10 pm that day.

Earlier, DB showed the arrest of Mirza Fakhrul and Mirza Abbas.

In this regard, the head of DB Mohammad Harun ar Rashid said, we have brought Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and Mirza Abbas for questioning. After the interrogation, we arrested them as the informants in the incident of Wednesday (December 7).

A leader of the party said that Mirza Fakhrul and Mirza Abbas were arrested by the police around 3 pm on Thursday (December 8).

On the afternoon of December 7, BNP leaders and activists clashed with the police in front of the BNP central office in Nayapaltan. One person was shot and killed. Many were injured. At this time, BNP raided the office.

The police filed a case at Paltan Model Police Station accusing 150 to 2000 BNP leaders and activists including 473 names in the clash.
