But despite her prowess, Aruna Irani has played supporting roles most of the time. He and Bollywood superstar Rekha are very good friends. But once he was dropped from a movie because of Rekha. Aruna Irani said about this, "Rekha was a very good friend of mine, but it was because of her that I dropped out of Mangalsutra." Recently on ANI's podcast show, Aruna said that in this movie she would be seen in the role of her hero's dead wife, she would play the role of a 'ghost'. Rekha played the hero's second wife in this movie.


When the reason for Aruna's omission from the film was later asked by the director, he directly said, "To be honest, Rekhaji didn't want you to do that role." Later, Rekhaji himself admitted, "Look, Aruna, if the performance in that film is a little bit like that, then I will look like a villain, that's why I didn't want you to do that role." Although Aruna felt bad for such behavior of her friend, she did not regret it later.
