The staple food of Bengalis is rice. Almost every family cooks rice at least twice a day. Because of this, the amount of rice is a little more in every family. And it is surely not possible to buy rice every day? Therefore, the practice of buying one or more grains of rice is common in almost all homes.
However, within a few days of keeping too much rice at home, it is seen that insects have caught it. And if that rice is a little old, then it doesn't matter. No matter how well the rice is washed before cooking, some bugs remain intact. And surely no one wants to cook rice with insects.
It is quite a laborious task to eliminate rice beetles one by one. So what is the way? How to prevent rice insects? There are a few simple ways to keep rice weevils at bay. It does not require much pruning.
* If the rice is infected with insects, keep a few neem leaves in the rice bowl. Bay leaves can also be used instead of neem leaves. You will see that the rice beetle has escaped. This is one of the best ways to repel rice weevils. But if you put neem leaves or bay leaves in the rice bowl beforehand, there will be no fear of catching insects.
* Or you can put some peeled garlic in the rice bowl. It will not catch rice insects. However, if the garlic is dry, you must change it.
* Apart from this, rice insects can also be removed with the help of dry chili or pepper. Add some dry chillies to the rice bowl. Only then will no more insects come. Again, pepper can also eliminate rice beetles. For this, keep a handful of whole pepper in a bowl of rice.
* Another great way to prevent rice bugs is cloves. Put a few cloves in the rice bowl, you will see that insects will stay away.
* Strange as it may be, it is true that matchsticks can also kill rice weevils. Matches contain sulfur, which these insects do not like. Put several matchsticks in a bowl of rice and you will see that insects will stay away.
* Even then, if there are insects in the rice, then keep the rice in the refrigerator for 4 to 5 days. You will see that all the insects are dead.
* If there is a lot of insects in the rice, then let the rice dry in the sunlight for a while. Insects will flee in intense heat. But if the rice is kept in direct sunlight, the rice does not grow well. So you can keep the rice in the sun instead of directly in the sun. Insects will die in the heat of the sun.
* Use airtight boxes to store rice. As a result, if the air does not enter, the insects will not catch the rice and the rice will not have satsya. Keep the rice bowl in a cool place. Wash and clean the pot before refilling with rice. You can use pesticides around the pot.
