What Hero Alam said after getting his candidature back


Finally, the Election Commission (EC) postponed the decision to cancel the candidature of Hero Alam in Dhaka-17 constituency. As a result, there is no obstacle for him to be elected as an independent candidate. EC Additional Secretary Ashok Kumar Debnath gave this information after the appeal hearing at the Agargaon election building in the capital on Thursday.


Hero Alam, excited to get back the candidature, said, 'I got back the candidature with everyone's prayers. Truth has won. I will enter the field with the symbol on the 26th. Hopefully, I will return home after winning.


He also said, 'Ektar is my favorite symbol. I want to vote with this unity.


Earlier, on June 18, the returning officer Md. announced the cancellation of the nomination papers of eight people including Hero Alam in the Dhaka-17 seat by-election. Munir Hossain Khan. And after hearing the appeal today independent candidate Hero Alam and Zaker party Kazi Md. Rashidul Hasan got their nomination back.



Those whose nomination papers were canceled at that time are - Zaker Party Kazi Md. Rashidul Hasan, Jatiya Party's Roshan Ershadpanthi Md. Mamunur Rashid, Md. Tariqul Islam Bhuyan (Independent), Abu Azam Khan (Independent), Musaur Rahman Khan (Independent), Bangladesh Nationalist Front (BNF). Mojibur Rahman and Sheikh Asaduzzaman Jalal.


It should be noted that the seat became vacant after the death of actor Akbar Hossain Pathan (Farooq) on May 15. If a seat in the Parliament falls vacant, a by-election must be held within 90 days. As such, the seat is bound to hold a by-election by August 12. Professor Mohammad A. Arafat will be elected on behalf of the ruling Awami League in this seat.
