Threads crossed 10 crore milestone in 5 days of launch
Instagram's app Threads reached 100 million users within five days of its launch.
It 'easily' became the world's fastest growing app after achieving the milestone on Monday morning.
The previous record was held by OpenAI, the maker of ChatGPT. It took the company two months to achieve this feat.
The Threads app, released late Wednesday, took just five days to reach the milestone. Mark Zuckerberg, Meta's chief executive, has released several updates on the matter, saying the growth rate "exceeded our expectations".
He also said that two million users joined it within two hours of its launch, and one crore users within seven hours.
Twitter had about 230 million monthly active users as of May 2022, according to a statement prior to Musk's acquisition of Twitter late last year.
Various posts from the Threads app can be shared on Instagram. It can also be the opposite. And it can post various links, images and videos up to five minutes long.Â
